Help the people you support discover a more peaceful relationship with food and body.

As an Anti-Diet Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I’d be honored to serve as your next guest teacher, speaker, or panelist.

I’m Leah Kern, spiritual RDN, CDN, and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I am an anti-diet, intuitive eating, weight inclusive aligned dietitian working with clients to heal from disordered eating.

Values I bring to your speaking engagements:

Love, laughter, connection, play, an inclusive approach, and firmly evidence-based Health At Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating frameworks.

All people of all gender identities, social identities, races, abilities, body sizes, & backgrounds are seen, protected, & welcome. I strive to create an inclusive space and am committed to continuously learning from others with different lived experiences than me.

My passion for this work stems in part from my own story. I struggled with disordered eating for years, and it kept me from living as my most authentic and expansive self. When I discovered intuitive eating as a freshman in college, my whole world changed.

The Intuitive Eating framework showed me just how much I was living out of alignment with my values and my truth. It helped me see that diet culture — with its constant pressure for perfection — was completely unsustainable and not worth the sacrifice.

Helping folks heal their relationships with food and body is the exact work I feel I was put on this earth to do. I’m grateful every day that it’s the exact work I get to do.

Wondering exactly how intuitive eating and anti-diet education could benefit the people in your organization?

Struggling with disordered eating, distressful body image, and constant diet thoughts results in people not showing up as their most expansive, present, and engaged selves. Research shows that implementing the Intuitive Eating framework leads to:

  • Decreased stress levels
  • Higher self-esteem
  • Increased life satisfaction
  • Improved cholesterol levels, heart health, and blood sugar control
  • Decreased risk of developing an eating disorder
  • Improved social life and relationships

On the other hand, the weight-normative, diet-centric frameworks have been shown to lead to binge eating, obsessive food thoughts, decreased self esteem, social isolation, and increased stress levels.

Equipping the members of your organization with intuitive eating tools can help them:

  • Connect with clients during events without being consumed by food thoughts
  • Show up fully to meetings without being distracted by thoughts about the treats on the table
  • Focus in class instead of ruminating about the foods eaten earlier in the day
  • Improve their self-talk and self-care behaviors leading to increased confidence
  • Experience greater concentration and creativity as a result of nourishing their body
  • Unlock increased bandwidth from consistently honoring body cues instead of feeling lethargic from riding the binge/ restrict dieting rollercoaster

Groups I love to support:

  • Doctors and other medical professionals — especially if you’re looking to integrate an evidence-based, Health At Every Size (HAES) nutrition approach in your practice or if you’re looking for CME credits in the area of intuitive eating nutrition science.
  • Corporations and HR teams — especially if you’re eager to set your organization apart by offering innovative, anti-diet culture wellness programs to help employees feel less stressed about food, more nourished, and more engaged in their work.
  • Sororities and other female-identifying student groups — especially if you’re trying to support people as they struggle with body image, self-comparison, binge eating, or other disordered eating and exercise behaviors.
  • Dietetics colleagues — especially if you’re interested in bringing HAES and intuitive eating principles into your practice to provide more robust support to your clients.
  • Cannabis users — especially if you want to learn more about how to enjoy a mellow unwind with some cannabis on a weekday night without being in physical discomfort from eating past fullness.

My process:

I feel it’s my obligation to use my personal experience and professional training to set others free from diet culture… and I’m on a mission to free as many people as possible. I hope that your group will be next. It would be my absolute honor to serve as your next guest teacher, speaker, or panelist.

If you want to get started, it’s important to know:

  1. I have several keynote presentations that range from 45 minutes – 60 minutes, some of which have been approved for CME credits. I am also happy to customize a presentation to best serve your group.
  2. All speaker pricing and packages are custom to ensure you get exactly what you need.
  3. My schedule for speaking engagements typically books 2-3 months in advance.
  4. I require you to fill out this speaker request form to help me understand more about your organization and vision for this event.
  5. Once you fill out the speaker request form, I’ll reach out within 48 hours to set up a free consultation call to discuss next steps.

Leah gave a presentation to my club's community at the University of Vermont with a great overview of intuitive eating and how to live intuitively, too. Leah is so thoughtful in planning the session to be tailored to your specific community- ours was specifically about college students experiences living in communal settings. Leah is engaging, well prepared and makes her content relatable for everyone in attendance. I would highly recommend her to any group wanting to learn more about intuitive eating! -Sophie H.
